Parkwood Hills located on the western side of Ottawa within the green belt. The neighbourhood is characterized by single homes built mostly in the 1950s to 1970s. You will find many extra large lots and the area is undergoing major changes. Intensification is more common as construction of new, luxury single houses and sometimes semi-detached homes are common. The community also attracts many young families. Those who prefer to stay in a more central area often consider Parkwood Hills, Rideauview, Fisher Glen and Skyline. There are many unique facilities and amenities close to Parkwood Hills. Some of these are the huge park and public beach of Mooney's Bay. There you will find the Ottawa Lions track and field Club. On the other side of the beach is the Rideau River Canoe club one of the most popular outdoor activity clubs in the city. Carleton University is a short bike ride away.
